Rub Rabbits
The hard copy of a piece produced for 411Mania. This was one of my columns back when I wrote for them in 2013-14. I partook in staff opinion columns, reviews, and a weekly personal column: this article was for the latter.
411 promoted a casual tone and pushed for a personal, informal voice. Adding to this, I was encouraged to replied to top comments from the previous weeks articles to create a sense of engagement and community. This can be found at the start, and can be skipped if desired.
My column was called "Overlooked" and was a gaming feature focused on highlighting titles, both new and old, that were less commonly heard of, or discredited for varying reasons. It followed a set structure in which prior comments would be replied to; an intro and summary would be given; what made it overlooked would be addressed; my agreement or disagreement with these views given; then, ultimately, and in-depth look at the game itself. Overlooked had reasonable success; garnering a small pool of consistent readers, and running for 6 months - only ending as I chose to leave the site.
